Crazy God stuff in Haiti
One of my favorite Haitian missionaries has an awesome, God thing going on. They are currently in the States while they work out paperwork issues related to their daughter's adoption. In this time of waiting, their 15 year old daughter, Paige, decided that she would run a half marathon to raise money for Haiti. Specifically, she is raising money to build houses for families affected by the earthquake. So she set a challenging goal of $6500. 30 minutes after setting her goal, it was met. She has currently raised just $2 shy of $18, 000. Can you believe that amount? Here's the crazy part: she has raised this amount in less than a week. Her race date and the final date for accepting donations is June 10. God is at work! And you have an opportunity to be a part of it. Seriously, get your hinny over to their blog and donate some money! While I'm assuming the donations will slow down over time, imagine for a moment that they don't. Assume she raises $18, 000 every week until the race date. She could raise over $100, 000. A 15 year old! And here's another cool part: Maxima S.A., a group that builds houses, has agreed to do a matching donation situation. For every house that Paige raises the funds for, this group will donate one house. So it's double the money. Seriously crazy God stuff going on.
